The nearest major airport is the San Antonio International Airport which is located about 7 miles from the base. Upon arrival at the airport visit the information kiosk at both terminals in order arrange shuttle bus transportation. To call for shuttle bus service, call 210-671-0657. If arriving by car, Lackland Air Force Base is located at the intersection of US Hwy 90 and IH410. Any of the major highways will take you to one of the ten gates at Lackland Air Force Base. All gates will require a 100% ID check. For those military personnel who need temporary lodging, Lackland Air Force Base has billeting units available. If the base accommodations are full, the Inns of Lackland also offer rooms for military personnel and their families. Local hotels are also available if needed.
